The Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars (VASTS) program is an interactive, online science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning course taken in the spring semester and is followed by a one week-long residential Summer Academy at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton. The online course uses the theme of Space Exploration to teach and reinforce a wide range of STEM knowledge and skills. Students who participate is VASTS earn 2 college credits for the online course and 2 additional credits for the Summer Academy.(Money saving opportunity!) THIS IS FREE TO STUDENTS!!!!!
Applicants must be:
A high school junior with an interest in STEM
Have a minimum 2.7 GPA
Be at least 16 years old
Have internet access and e-mail to complete online assignments (home, school or library)
Be a Virginia resident and U.S. Citizen
